 Important Parent Information 9/3/10

Picture Make-Up Day:

Wednesday, September 8th will be picure make-up day. The photographer will be back to take portraits of any children that may not have been present on August 28th or 29th. Please assemble near the snack bar, around 6pm.

Tumbling Classes, Please follow this link for info:

Varsity Schedule REVISED on 8/22/10:

The Varsity Schedule has been released by the league. The Falcons will open up the season along with the rest of the teams, at home against Boston on August 28th. There are two instances where the varsity team will travel to a different loaction than the other three levels: On Saturday, September 4th, the Falcons will play at Lancaster Red, while the other levels travel to Alden, and on Saturday September 11th, the Falcons will play at Orchard Park White, while the other teams will play at Eden, and on October 23, 2010, The Falcons will play at Lancaster Red again, while the rest of HJK travels to East Aurora. This is especially important for parents who have a varsity player and a player at another level.

Airlanes can purchase discounted tickets for the following Buffalo Bills regular season games:

Airlanes can sell these tickets to its families for 25 dollars apiece. There will be more information the first week of practice.

Fundraising 2010:

This year, each child will be responsible for selling five (5) $10.00 three month lottery calenders, or prepay a $40.00 fundraising fee.

Airlanes Leaguewide Notes:

Snack Bar

Parents, if you have signed up to work a particular game on a particular date, please honor your committment. Airlanes schedules it's volunteers so that you will be free to see your child's game, but due to the tightness of the game scheduling, we simply do not have the time to keep trying to track down those who have already signed up. The alternative is to shut the snack bar down completely, which would hurt all of us. So please, report for your shift on time.

Chain Crew

Airlanes is always in need of parents to assist the on-field officials by carrying the chains and the down marker. If you would like to volunteer for your child's game, (or any of our home games) please see your Coach or Team Manager. Trust us...it's the best view in the house!

Stiglemeir Park

Remember this is our town park. Please follow the rules that are posted. There are absolutely NO DOGS ALLOWED anywhere in the park. Do not park in places that are marked no parking. (Specifically, the Snack Bar side!) Please be respectful to other park patrons, especially those who are walking.

Also, if a park Ranger approaches you, remember, they are just doing their job. Everyone's safety is their primary concern, so please follow their direction.

Try to remember we represent AIRLANES, so let’s show everyone that we are the best organization around, by being courteous and respectful to others even though it may be difficult at times. If you have a problem, please see one of the executive board members or President Frank Szefler for investigation.

Parking-Important!

Parents, please, DO NOT park on the field side of the street in Losson Park. The men in the green town trucks will call CPD and have your car ticketed and possibly towed. We as an organization do not want to see this happen to anyone...especially members of the Airlanes family, most of whom are residents of our own town.

As always on gameday, the main lot is reserved for Executive Board Members, Head Coaches, Officials, Paramedics, and Handicapped.

Scoreboard

Through the years, we have run the scoreboard on and off. What Airlanes needs, are dedicated individuals to run it, even though the referees keep the official game time. This year, we will be making a list of people who would like to run the scoreboard, so if anyone is interested, please let either a coach or a board member know.

Sound System

We try to announce the girls and boys between each game, but because of the time constraints, sometimes it’s simply not possible. Again this fall, we would like to have someone from each team to announce the girls and boys before each game when time allows. Please let your head coach know if you’re interested.

Comment Box

There is a mailbox on the side of the snack bar. If you have any comments (positive or negative), you can put them in there at any time. President Frank Szefler does check it regularly and is the only person who has a key. Please understand all correspondence is strictly confidential. Please put your team name on any comments so he can investigate the problem and take care of it.

Upcoming Events:

UB Game!

This year, Airlanes will attending the UB Bulls-Rhode Island game on Thursday, September 2nd. See your Coach for discounted tickets.

Festival of Lights Competition:

Airlanes will be attending a second competition, the Annual Festival of Lights Competition in Niagara Falls Canada, on December 4th and 5th. In order to participate, you will need either a passport, or an enhanced license to cross the border into Canada, as well as your child's birth certificate. This is an optional competition, so if you decide to opt out, please inform your coaches as soon as possible.
